Weekend Review and a Quirky Question

There is nothing better than rehashing a solid weekend filled with friends, good runs, and yummy food!

BUT before I get started, will you please fill out this Fun, Quirky Survey HERE (only two questions!) Background story- during Saturday’s run, three people owned up to not brushing their teeth before a run. Now I want to find out if others do that as well, or if they are the lone rangers.

*******

Friday after work I scooted on over to the New Balance Good Form Run Clinic with my boss. I’m going to do a separate post on this either for tomorrow or Wednesday, so stay tuned! After a quick trip to Target with Coach Nancy (who was a lifesaver to let me know “yay” or “nay” on the new swimsuit) it was home to make a new recipe…. “Italian Style Stuff Portobello”. Lentils, mozzarella, and sauce. So good! Recipe to come.

Sheesh. I feel like I am promising y’all a lot right now ;)

Saturday morning I woke up early to meet CREW for our run on Thunderbolt. We were greeted with an amazing sunrise that made it that much easier.

How gorgeous is this? Jealous? Come down to Savannah and run with us!

And hey, Savannahians…. recognize this face?

Say ‘hi’ to Logan! You may recognize him as one of the Super Stars from Fleet Feet. He promised me he would come out to run with us one day and Saturday was our lucky day.

After doing some items around the house, hubs and I got ready for date night to see Avenue Q at Bay Street Theater. I was a little nervous to how he would react to a musical. BUT holy cannoli, it was FABULOUS! We got put in the front row by the director. I like to think it was because my outfit was just that fabulous, but pretty much it was because I made sure no one took his and the stage hands’ seats. Karma people.

The actors were awesome. The facial expressions on their faces while they used their puppets were amazing! Their voices were like butter. Was it slightly inappropriate at times? Heck yes. Did everyone laugh their tuckus’ off? You betcha!

But date night could only last so long when a 9 mile run is on the books for Sunday morning.

I met up with Kristen, from my book club, to run the Isle of Hope area. I was nervous as crap because she runs and I have done intervals for the majority of my running ‘career’ (for long runs at least). So I was super proud that I ran straight until mile 6 and we kept a great pace, then I pulled Kristen down and made her walk 1 minute at mile 6, 7, and 8. That’s it! Only 3, 1 minute walk breaks. Hollerz. I think my new run schedule & cross training is paying off!

I then quickly showered and headed off to B. Matthews to met up with two of my dear friends for brunch.

But the main star of the brunch was Graycen!

Cute as a button! And check out her little booties and bow! I die.

So after coo-ing over little miss Graycen, there were errands to be run and house work to be done. Typical rainy day Sunday!

How was your weekend?

Comments

  1. I’ll own up – if my routine is messed up, I won’t brush my teeth before a run or a morning workout. For example, last week we stayed with my folks because we had a heat wave and we don’t have AC. I don’t think I brushed my teeth any morning before CrossFit because I wasn’t following my usual routine. Plus I had longer to drive to get there so I was running late every morning. (Yeah, I could have woken up 5 minutes earlier, but I prefer to live dangerously.)

  2. Great stinking job on your long run! What are you training for right now? Are you doing the Savannah Marathon again?

  3. SO proud of you girlfriend!! I’d love to run sometime :)

  4. Stephanie says:

Oh my, what an adorable little Angel. Her mommy must be fantastic to dress her like that! Haha!

  5. N. McGinn says:

Keep it up Vic! This is awesome!
