Tuesdays with Books

Once a month I gather with some of the greatest minds in Savannah. Like Mensa great.

Ok, the Mensa part may be a bit extreme. But we all come from different areas of the country, different political affiliations (which is great for conversation!),  hold different jobs and leadership roles in Savannah, and are at different points in our personal lives. It’s a hodge podge but fabulous!

Tonight I hosted and had all intentions of a fabulous-Pinterest inspired menu. That went down the drain when Sunday Funday ended up going from activity-to-activity and I didn’t go to the grocery store with my list. BUT I still did manage to have some fun items and even though the food wasn’t Red, White, and Blue {ummm hello, the Olympics are in just a few days}- the cutlery and plates were.

To accompany the Little Caesars Pizza (can you tell I was rushed!!??), we had hummus with pita, funfetti dip, wasabi pea mix, and fruit cups. Funfetti dip, what is that you ask?? The best thing to grace my lips….

I found the recipe on Eat Yourself Skinny and the only modification I did was not use low-fat yogurt, because last night at Kroger at 10pm they didn’t have any so I had to use regular. Plus I added sprinkles on top for more flair SOOOO good.

I figured that since all my Pinterest ideas were a bust, I had to have some food item that was Red, White & Blue. So here is my pathetically, easy attempt.

Kind of lame. Blueberries, Cool Whip and Strawberries. I don’t think I’ve had cool whip in forever. I don’t think I’m missing it– unless it’s in the Funfetti dip

And a party wouldn’t be fun without a cute picture of the host. Or extra lame.
