You may recall that I declared I was hitting refresh last week. We were about 11 weeks out from June 1st, which I believe is practically ‘International Bikini Day’. So I launched my own personal challenge. #hittingrefresh
Let’s see how week #1 went at hitting my goals:
Run 3x- yeah I did this but not how I wanted. I got up early on Monday and ran 2 miles prior to NoBo then an additional 1.5 with the group. Wednesday and Friday I just did NoBo. Still technically 3x, but lackluster. I meant to meet up with a large group this morning and ‘set’ my alarm for 5:45am. Being the brainchild I am, I never turned it on.
Spin 1x- Heck yeah I did!
Swim 1x- If you count when I swam in the bathtub. Then yes, yes I did.
Weights and/or Body Pump 2x- I lifted once this week.
I felt really good about my eating and kept a chart of how many times I stayed the course of the rotated meals.
Breakfast- 6 out of 7
Lunch- 5 out of 7 (we had a co-worker leave this week… so that is my defense)
Snacks- 5 out of 7 (to include the baby shower today, I am sure!)
Dinners- 4 out of 7
All in all, I am pretty happy with myself. I like how I am tracking my progress and I lost 1.6 lbs this week. Right where I want to be per week. I am going to make sure for next week that I don’t let my eating with others sway my food decisions. The NoBo program director sent an email last week that resonated with myself, here is an snippet:
If two people dine together, each will eat about 35% more than if they dined alone. If more than seven friends dine together, they will consume 96% more than they would solo (de Castro 1994). Those who eat together subconsciously model each other’s eating styles. Normally light eaters consume more when munching with a group, while heavier eaters eat less when dining with companions.
Chew on that for a minute. By yourself.

Later today I have a baby shower for a dear friend, Stephanie….
I think I did pretty good wrapping her gift:
And yes. She is a UNC fan. I don’t hold this against her
