What a weekend. I am still wishing it was the weekend… just a few more hours please. But I guess another cup o’ joe will do
Let’s hit the highlights with pictures galore and some text.
Saturday Morning’s CREW Run was met with ice baths and breakfast after. Want tips for an ice bath? Make sure to check out Friday’s post HERE.
After spending my morning ‘running’ around, it was time for the Junior League of Savannah’s Fit Kids Fest. I am a provisional and have been helping on the committee for this event. I was excited to get involved with something I care so much about; getting kids active and learning how to take care of their bodies. We had a great time, great weather, and a solid turnout for a first time event. I am excited for more JLS events and to meet more outstanding ladies in my community.
We had plans to attend the Music Fest in Forsyth Park later that evening, but after being up since 4am and being outside all day… the couch and some Fig Newtons were calling my name. Hey, I was carb loading and resting my legs
And rest my legs for the PARKING DECK CRAWL I did!! Yesterday we used three decks for a total of five up/downs with 1.75 miles in between equaling approx 5 miles.
Seriously, those parking deck hills were killer. But I immediately threw on my Zensah sleeves, stretched, and rolled my legs. Then we all walked over to Starbucks for some more conversation. Since I arranged the meet up via my Victoria Runs Facebook Page, I had not met some of the runners before. It was great to meet like minded people!
After resting up for a bit, it was back to our place for housework before going off to volunteer adventure #2 of the weekend. Heather, who owns BleuBelle in Savannah, is extremely active in our community and various fundraising events. I met her a few years ago when I volunteered at an event and later became at BleuBelle Bride. So it’s always fun to volunteer for a friend that is genuine in her philanthropy.
So yesterday’s event was to benefit The Next Generation for our children’s hospital at Memorial. The ‘Happily Ever After Ball’ featured 25 princesses, Jack Sparrow, Rapunzel’s Hair Salon, a tea party with Alice in Wonderland, a real-life Barbie, games with prizes for the kids and more! It was fabulous and great to see my friends with their kids or nieces/nephews! Loved the concept, love the charity!
And since I finally finished my wedding album after being married for almost six months…. I thought I would leave this picture of my computer screen with you.
How sweet is my Daddy? Gee golly, I love him.

Oh, how I wanted to do the Parking Deck Crawl with you guys and my fellow MRTT mommas! But Sundays are my husbands long run mornings and I have to watch our kid. Plus my knees were achy – probably wouldn’t have been a good idea to overwork them. I do love a good “hill” workout, so I hope you have another one in mind!
I saw a news segment on the Happily ever After Ball… how awesome it looked! The princesses looked great!!! I bet those kids had a blast!
We will do it again!! No worries
The Ball was great… we had such a blast!!!
Sounds like a fabulous event – I love anything that combines Disney characters with helping sick kids!! Definitely one of my passions
I completely understand, it makes my heart ache when a kid is in need. But glad to help in any way I can
