Mizuno Wave Inspires 8 #Mezamashii

Morning from the Low Country!

The other day I got some exciting news and a fabulous package in the mail. Joey, one of my fellow coaches with Fleet Feet Savannah, made me his +1 for the Mizuno Mezamashii Run Project. The basis of this project is to virtually create awareness for the Mizuno brand through those that blog, tweet, and have loud mouths. Like myself.

Mezamashii means brilliant in Japanese. Which I feel is the perfect fit for this project. It’s a brilliant way to market. For the price of a pair of shoes and shipping, Mizuno is getting amazing marketing from those that have been Mizuno lovers for years. Or those like myself who have never worn Mizuno.

Once I got my +1 invite, I headed to Fleet Feet Savannah and got fitted to see which one would work for my stride. We determined that the Wave Inspire 8 would be the best fit. The next day I called the Customer Service and told the sweet gentlemen what I wanted and BAM! They were here like three days later!

The Inspire is for moderate over pronators like myself. The shoe is designed to have stability to enable a “buttery smooth ride” while reduces the lateral stress. They are lightweight and felt great on my runs. I have tried other brands of shoes and after 40 miles in them, my ankles, knees, arches are killing me. Needless to say, those got placed in the shoe basket until I could find them an owner. These Mizunos are definitely keepers in my shoe collection!

And how could they not be? The color combo is so cute and the toe of the shoe reminds me of a mermaid tail. So what if I am imagining myself floating gracefully with Red, Ariel hair while I run?!? ;)

Thank you Mizuno for having me be a part of your #Mezamashii project, so I can have a more #brilliantrun!

What brand of shoes do you run in? Do you switch it up during your training?

Comments

  1. For the past 6 years, ever since my first running analysis at FF, I’ve used Brooks Adrenalines. They have always been great for me, so I continue to buy them, but I always wonder if there’s another shoe out there for me. I love bright, flashy colors for all my running gear, but unfortunately Brooks lacks in that department. I love the colors of your Mizunos!

  2. Just switched to Mizuno’s this spring from Asics and I am in LOVE!!! My feet, ankles and knees have never felt better :-)

  3. Love love love my Mizunos– so much that I have 4 brand new pairs! Thank goodness for color changes and clearance! It was quite the battle getting me into Mizunos as I had to try on about 74 pair of shoes and return about 3. I have the opposite pronation issue and run on the outside of my feet.

  4. I JUST got a pair of Mizuno’s this past weekend! I’ve been a Brooks girl since I started running, but I can’t wait to test these out today… they felt like pillows on my feet, which I’m more than okay with!

  5. Jason Somers says:

I’ve started runing in Newton’s – it has felt very “natural” for me! I have struggled ove rthe past year to find something that didn’t give me pain. So far these are perfect fit for me!!

  6. Lookin good! Those are some nice shoes. I’ve been needing some new ones myself. I’ve heard a lot about ‘Altra Zero Drop.’ Anyone else heard of or tried “Zero Drop” running shoes?

  7. Wow! I’m just blown away by this story! Makes me want to get out there and get walking! Alas, I’m at the computer – work BUT I will walk a bit more at lunch! Thanks for the inspiration!
