Three day weekends are amazing. I had one goal: to be active all 3 days (#activefor3)
After I got back from an amazing Sales Trip/Board Retreat to Athens, I quickly changed and met up with some friends & the hubs downtown to celebrate the Blue Moon. Good conversation about running, camping, and fun times in Savannah.
We stayed up past my bedtime of 9pm *gasp, yes that is my usual bedtime*. So waking up at 4:30 on Saturday was a little tough, but I was really excited for the CREW Half Basic group to tackle their first time running 8 miles. And tackle they did, they had an awesome run despite the ridiculous humidity.
After a little down time around the house, I met up with Christine and we went kayaking…
We crawled up to the top of the lighthouse and sat and watched the day go by for a while, or just til the tides turned so we could head home
On Sunday I ended up going for a mile swim at the Y. I haven’t swam in a pool for a while and I had a new gadget to test out that I was sent the other day (details on that later!). It’s nice because the Y’s pool has the bubble off, so it was a pleasant, outdoor swim.
Hubs and I then went to the ‘Rhythm and Brews’ concert and got there just as Sister Hazel was on. It was great to see so many people we knew and enjoy some music on the lawn of the convention center on the river….
Another early evening, well much earlier than Friday Because yesterday I had my alarm set for 3:45 am with a goal of 10 miles before our group 4 miler. That sounded great in theory, but when yours hubs is not a morning person and he promised he would come with you it would not have been polite to just leave him. So I waited, somewhat impatiently, and we left around 4:45 to get our miles in. Not a big deal, because we got 7 in before the group run and ended up doing 11 for the day! Works in my book
7 mile tempo: 12:09 min/mile average
And then we ice bathed…
Then it was time for NCIS reruns and housework…. why can’t our condo be a smart condo and clean, do laundry it self??
How was your Labor Day? Were you active?
